Have you tried making your mash in the microwave? I was gifted a set of Cook Anyday microwave safe bowls, and I LOVE them. Microwaving got a bad rap in the 90's, but the reality is microwaving is smart and healthy- microwaving in plastic is terrible. So make sure you have some glass or ceramic containers to get the most from your microwave.
Microwaving your potatoes leads to the most potatoey mashed potato I've ever had. It keeps all the flavour instead of it sneaking out into your boiling water. I guess roasting the potatoes in the skin then peeling would also work, but who has that kind of time, or interest in using the oven just for one thing.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kilo potatoes iets kruimige, russet, desiree
  • 2 tbsp Ciao Bella
  • salt to taste
  • 1 cup milk oat, soy
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegan butter extra to taste

Instructions
 

  • Peel potatoes, then rinse. Reserve skins for crispy potato skins - see notes
  • Roughly cut potatoes
  • Add into a microwave safe glass or ceramic bowl, top with the matching lid, or an upturned plate
  • Microwave on high for 9 minutes, check they are tender if not add 2 minutes
  • Add milk and 2 tbsp olive oil, microwave 2 minutes to heat up the milk
  • Mash the potatoes until creamy, Add Ciao Bella and stir through well.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper. Add more milk/oil/Ciao Bella to get your desired consistency.

Notes

Food Waste Tip: Keep your potato peels, toss with oil, then air-fry until crispy for a delicious snack or to garnish your meal. 
Extras: Include sweet potato or pumpkin for extra flavour and nutrients.
